Technology
Aeraze is a technological breakthrough in the concept of Photoinactivation via Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI).
- Far UV C, the subset of UV C ranging from 200 to 225nm, is an effective viral disinfectant, with suitability as a technology response to transmission of SARS CoV 2 via air and surfaces. Is also considered to be safer human exposure.
- UVGI meet efficiently the need as alternative disinfection technology to chemicals.
- However, no UVGI device overcomes the limitations of the current sources (low power, design issues) and mostly none provides feedback to the operator. The photoinactivation process is left uncertain and not evaluable.
- Aeraze delivers a new concept for photoinactivation designed for performance. The highest quality standards of its components, and its IoT features make it a new paradigm in the UVGI world for professional operators, allowing delivery of “service consumption models”, with a direct operating cost per m² below 0.01€.
- Aeraze has been developed in Italy by Orion Technologies, with the assistance for specific components and trials of some of the most reputable Italian research institutions: INAF (Astrophysics National Institute), DIBIC Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences L. Sacco Milan, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Microelectronics Lab). Aeraze’s has been designed supported by the European skills of Amarula Solutions BV, JUNO Design Srl , Radium Lampenwerk GmbH.
Aeraze delivers the innovative concept of Controlled Photoinactivation estabilishing a new class of mobile UVGI systems with rapid delivery of sanification when and where other means are not viable or sufficient.
Aeraze's principle of operation
Aeraze's Far UV light is emitted by an Excimer lamp. These lamps are quasimonochromatic light sources operating over a wide range of wavelengths in the ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral regions. The formation of excited dimers (excimers) spontaneously transiting from the excited state to the ground state results in the emission of UV-photons. The radiation of Aeraze is specified by molecule KrCl. Aeraze's excimer source targets the infected areas from a handheld reflector, designed optimising delivery of the 222nm light through the 50cm² aperture in the handpiece. The Dynamic Dosage Control ensures a fast, easy and controlled procedure by verifying the Far-UV dosage that reaches the target.
Main Product Features
Aeraze delivers a new concept for photoinactivation designed for performance.
Aeraze inactivates Sars-CoV-2 from 1m² in less than 10 seconds while monitoring the delivery of the effective dose to the target. Aeraze enables by design all the benefits of IoT technology for process and device supervision.
High Power Operational Speed
A 400W excimer source delivers a very fast rate of inactivation of coronavirus: 1m² in less than 10 seconds.
Practicality And Reliability
Aeraze's provides resistance, safety and usability. The lightweight handpiece connects to the base by means of a 2m long cable. The assembly fits the dimensions of any airliner aisle and is ready for “heavy duty” assignments.
DYNAMIC DOSAGE CONTROL
Aeraze insures its effectiveness thanks to its unique real time irradiation sensing.
Product Safety
Aeraze safety features protect from over- or accidental exposure to UV, disabling the excimer source if the handpiece is not held by the operator (“grip control”) and monitoring usage time. Aeraze turns itself off if the pre-set Exposure Limit for the operator has been reached. Aeraze is intended for professional operators use. Operator's skin and eyes must be properly protected by PPE according to safety regulations. Aeraze is not meant as a device for treatment its radiation at its power level is dangerous if directed on eyes or skin. Although 222nm wavelength is considered less harmful to skin than conventional
IoT Capabilities
Aeraze is controlled and programmed via an Android App that enables pre-sets or free dosage setting for the Dynamic Dosage Control, Exposure Limits setting for the operator, sensors calibration. The App monitors and stores all device’s parameters on the cloud for predictive maintenance and disinfection process acknowledgment. A USB port also keeps your smartphone charging.
